Note: For those people who have chosen to make use of the online pre-order service, with a view to getting a Collector’s Edition CD-Key added to their account at a later date, this is something that should be possible.

In order to do so, you should be able to add your CE CD-Key to your account through your Battle.net Account Management page, effectively overwriting and voiding your previous standard Cataclysm Key. Instructions;

Log on to your Account Management page at https://eu.battle.net/login

Select the ‘Account’ tab at the top of the homepage

Under ‘Manage Games’ you will find an option to ‘Add or Upgrade a Game’
(https://eu.battle.net/account/management/add-game.html)

If you have more than one World of Warcraft account eligible for upgrade, you will be prompted to select the specific World of Warcraft account to which you wish to add the Collectors Edition after you have entered the authentication key on the Account Management page

Unfortunately, Lil' Deathwing does not do anything special (exact same movements as the other Collector's edition whelpling pets).

Currently, he does not fly with you when you fly. Rather disappointing, but I am still enjoying his awesome looks.

Edit: This is now defunct. They now do fly with your mount. Yay!

guys i have a little question if you have a account and you have a catha on it and you upgrade to collectors edition can you use your normal key again or is it gone then ?

If you try and transfer "this" bind on account item to a non "Cata Collector's Edition Account" this item is removed from the character after transfer.

BEWARE.

All other BoA pets seem to transfer fine.

Unique Features
Lil' Deathwing is a unique companion pet, meaning that no other pet shares the same model. This pet has similar animations to the other whelps - it constantly flies and will fly in a circle when idle.

How to get it
This pet can be obtained adding a Cataclysm Collector's Edition key to your world of warcraft account. Once added, Lil' Deathwing will be mailed to all current and future characters on your account. To learn more about the collector's edition, click here.

I don't know at what patch this change happend, but lil' deathwing BoA item now dissapears from your bags when you learn it.

(i had forgotten to learn it on a DK, and when he learned it, it was gone)

I can't confirm if this change was applied to mini-thor as well.

it's not such a bad change, if at all, considering that ALL new and future toons will get this in the mail.

something which i wish was the true for baby blizzard bear and onyxian welpling.

edit: just tested on a toon that hasn't learned mini-thor. the item on mini-thor does NOT dissapear. so this change only affected lil' deathwing.

That would be cool if this guy blew some fire from time to time when idle. Since it's a unique companion, I think it could be a tiny bit more unique, just like 迷你雷神, no? Thor flies around and fires bullet when idle. Lil' Deathwing's animations are too common for this kind of unique companion. Despite this, I love him! :)

When the MoP patch arrive, and since this patch will have the pet battle system, alot of players will chose this comp for battles.

Im confused, I really want this pet however I have a regular cataclysm game, Is it possible to get the collectors and just insert the collectors edition disk to get the pet?

Love it!

(Deathwing in Dragon Soul actually casts Cataclysm and Elementium Bolt. He also does rolls.)

He is an invaluable Battle pet in my opinion. With his Elementium Bolt and Roll (to boost the damage) he can one shot most pets, add his Tail Sweep and he's amazing. He's slow which works amazingly well with Tail Sweep always giving him the double damage.

He is bugged for me. I can't summon him, or battle with him any more. I've even sent in a ticket and bug reports on him. Bliz can't fix it, yet anyways. I hope they do soon, he is a very cool battle pet. Anyone else with the same problem?

By far one of the best battle pets I've used. Lil' Deathwing is one of my go-to pets for almost any situation. Throwing up an Elementium Bolt on the first round is amazing! Highly recommend this pet.
