Tier 5 shoulders drop in The Eye.
Kael, the last boss, drops the first quest item needed to be attuned to Mount Hyjal: Kael's Vial Remnant. The quest can be found here:
http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=10445
This instance should be done (as a guild) after Magtheridon's Lair, which is after Gruul's Lair, which is after Karazhan. It is not the "true" order of things, but as tiers go up it should be.
Good luck.

You'll need a lot of fire resistance for half of the monsters and bosses while the other half you will need arcane resistance. You will need fire resistance for the phoenix, Al'ar and the last boss, Kael'thas Sunstrider. You'll need arcane resistance for the High Astromancer Solarian (really important to have arcane resistance since all she does is cast arcane spells) and for the Void Reaver, but for this boss, it isn't really needed since it mostly uses melee attacks. A lot of their spells are fire-based and arcance-bases so fire arcane resistance will increase your survivability.
Don't forget to gear up or you'll be taking a lot of damage!

I 5 man this fight every week with a few friends. What you need is: having everybody very well geared, of course, and have a few certain classes/roles in your party.
To 5man successfully you
will
want in your group:
1 warrior tank. The tank
never
gets MCed and since it is a warrior it can pick up the shield to absord Pyroblast and the dagger to break MC asap from any other group members.
1-2 healers. It can be solohealed, I have done that before, but I realized that making the healing job easier is worth even the loss of one dps.
2-3 dps (depending on your heals setup). At least
one
dps has to have the staff equipped and active to protect the raid from stun/fear/disorientation during phases 3-5, so I suggest bringing casters and having they stay within 30 yards from the other group members for the staff to take effect.
The trick to do a successful phase 4 passage is having everybody stack with the tank on Kael and just move away if there's a Flamestrike being cast there. With everybody close to the tank he/she can easily break MC with the dagger without having to run towards the group members, and believe me, that can decide whether you wipe or get past this phase.
Dps and healers should waste their defensive cooldowns like rogue's Evasion before phase 4 because you don't want the tank missing attacks to break MC, except for mages and paladins, who can iceblock/bubble out of it.
If you get past phase 4, you're done, phase 5 is easy. Just make sure everybody gets close to the ground before Gravity Lapse ends and make sure not to stand close to the Nether Vapor around Kael (specially the tank). He still does Flamestrikes, summon phoenixes and disorients, so whoever is carrying the staff has to be within range of everybody. It might take a few tries to get this going with such a small group but you should be fine once you learn it well and feel more comfortable in the fight with a 5man group.
- edit - The fight I mentioned was Kael's (obviously, as stated by the strategy I submitted), however, I believe the other fights can also be 5 manned (there's a link to a video of a DK soloing Al'ar and another post of someone claiming a DK has soloed Kael in TK - which I refuse to believe due to the fight's mechanics - ).

ed: as of patch 5.04, old raid zones now only provide you with gold amounts based on the number of people in the instance, so boss and trash drops are now 1/25 what they used to be for this raid, making it useless to farm gold.
It should be noted that as of this patch, with Magtheridon and Gruul's Lair both having had their gold drop amounts nerfed by 90%, this raid is not too difficult for soloers or duo-ers looking for relatively quick gold from old content, though Kael'thas is rather complicated and technically challenging to learn how to do.
Each boss in this instance still drops 250g (Kael drops 300) All trash mobs drop about 1-1.5g. Green items, netherweave cloth, trash items and potions for vendor also drop quite a lot. There are also several epic BOE/BOP patterns which can drop from bosses and trash, several of which are actually decent moneymakers either from crafting them or selling the patterns themselves.
A solo clear of this instance as a DK was netting me at a minimum:
1050g for 4 bosses
150 for boss epic drops vendored
150 for trash
150 for trash greens/junk vendored
50-500 for boe patterns / random boe world blues/epics
---------
1550-2000g average + chance at phoenix mount
for about 90 minutes effort. This is quite a decent haul for a bored 85 DK looking to make gold from something other than dailies. An 85 blood DK in decent gear (ZG / 359 stuff) can trivially pull 2-3 trash packs at a time and AOE them down. All in all a good moneymaker, you should definitely start doing the instance for gold now before the gold drop eventually gets nerfed in a later content patch.

For any Feral druids interested in soloing this, it's very easy to do the first 3 bosses given the right gear. Keal'thas is more difficult, but doable, and there are quite a few guides on how to do him on his page here on WoWhead if you're interested. Here's a guide for the first 3 bosses. This guide may also help other classes as long as you adjust the strat to fit your classes abilities.
For A'lar I find it best to go cat spec, when he's in phase one and changes platforms you can use feral charge to quickly jump over to the next platform to avoid extra stacks of flame buffet, and it should be back up right before he switches again. Depending on your gear you can save up the phoenix spawns for phase 2, but if you don't have a decent set of gear I'd suggest killing them right away as phase 1 is harder than phase 2. Also make sure to quickly jump down from the ledge if A'lar flies into the middle to cast
烈焰飞羽
.
In phase 2 just kill off any phoenixes that spawn, and continue to dps A'lar until he flies up and turns into a meteor. This is a good point in the fight to use heals while you wait for him to come crashing down. After that, continue dps and repeat until he's dead. Also make sure to stay out of the fire patches he lays down to avoid the stacking debuff. A good way to deal with this is to circle the boss as you fight him so he lays it down in a spot that you're no longer in, avoiding the debuff and damage completely.
Astromancer is a very easy fight to do in cat form, she doesn't hit very hard so you don't need great gear for the fight. The 2 roaming trash packs in her room however have
虚空占卜者
in them which are some of the only enemies in the game that can mind control with only 1 target on their threat table. They need to die fast, as they cast their MC at around 8 - 10 seconds after agroing them.
For the actual boss fight you just need to do your normal rotation, after a little bit into the fight she'll start casting
星术师之怒
on you. You'll be knocked up to the roof after this debuff wears off, but you won't take any falling damage so it only serves as a minor annoyance. You can also feral charge back down to her if you use it right as the knock up begins. Every 50 seconds she'll vanish and 3 light beams will appear. At first a group of blood elves will pop out that you can take down easily with a couple swipes, afterwards, 2 priests will come out along with Solarian. The priests cast smite and will also try to heal Solarian so it's best to kill them quickly before switching back to Solarian as they don't have much health.
At 20% she will turn into a big voidwalker, and will no longer use Wrath of the Astromancer. She can fear and use void bolts but they also deal very weak damage so the fight is in the bag at this point.
Void Reaver is ironically one of the harder bosses to solo simply because you will most likely be silenced the entire fight since you will be getting spammed with
奥术宝珠
which will silence you for 5 seconds on impact. Because of this, I like to do this in bear form as the damage can easily overwhelm you in cat form, and you'll be able to heal yourself with leader of the pack procs even while silenced which are of course much stronger heals as a bear.
Pull with faerie fire, as you won't be able to use it while silenced. The fight doesn't really have as much too it besides hitting the boss until he dies, however if you're looking for a window of opportunity to use a spell, a good time to wait for is when he throws an orb at you and starts to channel
重击
right afterwards. This will give you around a 1 second window to cast a spell if you want.
Before 4.3 in mostly ZG / ZA gear, I was just barely able to beat him, but with 4.3 changes and gear from hour of twilight and some LFR gear I'm able to kill him ending the fight at full health without using any non proc heals.
Thanks for reading this and I hope it helps out with any druids trying to solo this place.

I found it a little confusing to locate the entrances to the various instances here. This is a simple summary which might help:
Place yourself over the large mana pipe, just North of Cosmowrench. Turn to face Tempest Keep. You will see four floating islands.
The Tempest Keep raid (The Eye) is through the archway on the largest island, directly in front of you. (73.3,63.7)
The Mechanar is through the archway on the smaller purple island to your right. (70.5,69.5)
The Botanica is through the archway on the smaller blueish island to your left. (71.5,55.5)
The Arcatraz is through the archway on the smaller red island, above you and to the left. (74.1,57.9)
Hope that helps!

Strategy for one/two players from the
Solo/Duo Old Raid Compendium
, done at level 85 at patch 4.3 with ilvl 385-395 gear:
Tempest Keep: The Eye
is soloable except for the final boss, who is duoable.
General Strategy:
In Tempest Keep, you can skip ahead to the final boss without killing the other three bosses beforehand.
Bosses:
Al'ar
Duo/Solo:
Easy
Can be difficult to solo for some classes, specifically without a large amount of self heal, as the AoE will whittle down your health over time. Also, if
Flame Quills
is cast in Phase 1, jump down off the upper level to avoid it.
Void Reaver
Duo/Solo:
Easy
A difficult solo for casters due to his silence. He also will aggro all the trash around him upon engaging, so be sure to clear it first.
High Astromancer Solarian
Duo/Solo:
Easy
Kael'thas Sunstrider
Duo
: Hard
Phase 1
: He will spawn each member of his council one at a time, and it is fairly easy to burn each down one by one. At this point you should kite each member of the group except magelady Capernian to the other side of the room and kill them so you can easily burn her without interference from the others at the start of Phase 3.
Phase 2
, he will spawn 7
legendary weapons
which you must defeat, after which you can loot them. One person will need to loot the
Staff of Disintegration
, and the other will need to loot the
Infinity Blade
. If this phase is problematic, the weapons should be tanked over by the bow, and a pet or dpser should take care of the staff first.
Before
Phase 3
begins, the staff should be used to mitigate the overwhelming CC in Phase 3, when all the council members spawn and attack at once. In this phase,
Grand Astomancer Capernian
should be killed first as she will do a vicious
Arcane Blast
which knock backs and slows and a
Conflagrate
, then
Thaladred the Darkener
, as he does a large
knock back
.
Phase 4
: Kael'thas will attack. He will periodically
Mind Control
the lower threat of the two party members, which must be dispelled by attacking the MCed player with the Infinity Blade, which will dispel it. He will also cast a
Pyroblast
which does a decent amount of damage and is cast in succession but can and should be interrupted. However, if he has his
Shock Barrier
up he will be immune to interrupts, so be sure to break it before interrupting. He will also spawn Phoenixes in this phase, but they can be ignored.
At 50%,
Phase 5
will start and he will go up in the air and periodically cast
Gravity Lapse
. You will want to stay out of melee range of him during this time, as he will cast a stacking debuff on you that reduces your max HP considerably. Wait until he is done casting it and there are no more purple lightning bolts around him, then attack him. Reports are that some classes can solo Kael'thas, but it highly advised to master the mechanics in a group of two first.

Soloed 4/4 as 391 Ret pally, first 3 are cake walks, kael is a pain.
*Pull trash the same you would if you were an actual raid group (i.e dont get crazy). The trash can sometimes pull unexpectedly high dps on you...
Void Reaver:
I Put on Seal of Insight and dps raced him. You are silenced ~90% of the fight, and i found no effective way to dodge it. Good news is that he doesnt hit too hard, and seal of insight kept me up. Any melee class who can heal without casting spells will find him a joke.
Alar-
I used seal of insight for some extra healing and just burned him at every platform he landed on, jumped to the lower area when he flew to the middle, and just straight-up burned him during the second phase. No crazy strategies are needed. I doubt other melee classes would struggle either, as alara doesnt put much damage out.
Solarian-
Tank and spank, you don't get fall damage so don't worry when your shot into the air. When adds are spawned, kill priests first. Other wise just aoe the others while targeting solarian.
Kael- some in-depth walkthroughs are posted in Kael's page
http://www.wowhead.com/npc=19622#comments
I don't have much to add that isn't already posted.
Bring your trinket, lots off cc from the lords. Depending on when they hit you, it can easily wipe you.
I will stress the use of the cosmic infuser's buff (and to a lesser extent the phaseshift bulwark's) during phase 4-5 against Kael. His fire damage output is really high and its very hard to heal through while dpsing him.
I would also suggest to trink out of his first disorient, as his dmg output only goes up as he spawns adds so the early 20 seconds of the fight are best for your dps.
Expect to wipe on Kael... this fight is not as easy as youtube videos make it seem...

Duo'd this fight last night and the only phase that causes difficulty on Kael'Thas anymore is phase 4 (Of course). While running this we found something that isn't really mentioned here yet, which is that you can line of sight Kael's Mind Control.
I on my warrior tanked Kael behind one of his statues, and my partner a Mage stood where he could DPS but as soon as Kael would cast MC, stepped or blinked to the side putting the statute between him and Kael. This allowed him to completely avoid getting MC'd and made even phase 4 super easy.
Hope this helps anyone looking to run this with friends =)

I solo'd this last night on my Enhancement Shaman ilvl 466. I was wondering if anyone had trouble with him mind controlling and there only being one person in the group. My first attempt this happened, and I'm curious if it has to do with totem mechanics or if I was just too slow. My completed attempt I did without totems.

For those of you having trouble with the adds in phase 3 of the Kael fight, here is how I've managed to do it on my Rogue.
Clear the trash up to Al'ar, including the trash in his room. Once you've downed the big glowing bird, pick one of the two paths on either side. It doesn't matter which one.
Clear trash in your chosen hallway up to the Y junction, then clear the trash in the hallway leading to Kael as well as the trash in the final room itself. Once this is done, run up to Kael and the other Blood Elfs to start the fight.
Kael will go into a long speech, which is your signal to run out of the room and down the hallways you cleared. Wait for the adds in the first little open area (It isn't really big enough to be called a room), very near to the Raid entrance portal. It is VERY important that you don't stand next to the portal itself, as the first add has a knockback and can toss you out of the instance and you have to start the whole process over again. Yes, this happened to me on the first attempt and I learned my lesson, lol.
The first add will follow you, VERY slowly I might add, to this room. Down him there and wait for the second add to follow. Thankfully he knows how to run, so the wait won't be as long.
Down the second add in the same room, then proceed to the room where Al'ar was and wait for the third add there. She's annoying because of the 10 second MC, but you shouldn't have any problems down her as well.
Next, run back through the hallway and up the branch you cleared to meet up with the forth add. He also MCs, but it shouldn't be that much of a problem. Once the forth add is down, Kael will give another speech and it's time to fight the weapons.
Down these and wait for the next phase when Kael resurrects the adds. You now have the ability to kill them one at a time, in reverse order you fought them in Phase 1.
After that, it's just tank and spank Kael through the last two phases and click to loot.

Here is my easy strat for soloing.
Phase 1:
(1) You want to clear all trash in all halls, the Phoenix Hall, the Solarium, and Tempest Bridge. Leave the Crucible alone.
(2) While in the Solarium, kill Solarion so the room is now empty. Alar is still up and the Crucible is untouched.
(3) Aggro Kael'thas and run to the Solarium and proceed to the very back.
(4) Thaladred always WALKS, which is a key to the fight. Wait till he reaches the very back wall, then kill him.
(5) Don't move. Sanguinar always runs, and you kill him at the same spot at the back wall.
(6) Run to the hallway leading to the Solarium, here you meet Capernion, who runs. If she cc's you, just let it wear off, don't use any precious cd's, when it wears off, kill her.
(7) Telonicus is now running to this spot, but you are running to the Phoenix Hall, then into the other hallway (towards the Crucible) where you wait for him at the junction where you turn to go up the ramp to the Tempest Bridge. Telonicus will probably put Remote Toy on you. Just kill him and wait out the 40 seconds, don't use any cd's to clear it.
(8) You are still at the same spot. Step around the corner because you need to los the weapons or some of them ranged you. Kill the weapons, but do not grab any: the loss in lvl 90 stats isn't worth replacing your own weapon.
Phase 2:
(9) All advisors rez at once, but you have them positioned for easy, no panic and no cd-using kills. First Telonicus rezzes, and you are right on his body. Kill him. If he uses Remote Toy, don't use a cd to clear it, just wait it out.
(10) Step around the corner to los Capernion and pull her near, or she cc's you from distance. If she cc's you, simply wait it out and then nuke her when it wears off. You may have to repeat this process patiently.
(11) Sanguinar appears, perhaps while Capernion is still up. No big deal. Just finish off Capernion, then kill Sanguinar, saving your cd's for Kael.
(12) There is no way you still have Remote Toy, and since Capernion is dead, you are free of all negative buffs. You have an eternity to wait for Thaladred, because he always WALKS and he is far away. Run up the ramp so Thaladred will follow you up. You are now at the door where you would normally enter the Tempest Bridge but are prohibited by the purple energy bars. Kill Thaladred.
(13) You must now quickly dismiss all pets, or Kael'thas will mc you (Mind Control) again and again. Kael'thas runs through the energy bars. He will mc you once or twice, but since you have no pet, it wears off and you simply nuke him asap. If you do try this with a pet, he forces you and your pet to fight each other and eventually you die, or the fight resets. Without a pet, you will take his health down to at least 50%, hopefully more. He summons a Phoenix, which you kill with aoe while nuking the boss (don't single focus on it).
Phase 3:
(14) Kill the egg that the Phoenix turns into. Kael'thas now runs through the energy bars and does his thing, but you have no worries since you aren't in his room so he cannot damage you. Heal up and prepare for the final bit.
(15) 20 seconds later Kael'thas runs back. You are still by the energy bars. Why? Because he will do a spell that throws you up in the air, but because the roof is so low here you are within range to melee him while at the roof! Don't even waste your time flying back to the ground to nuke him. Pop all your spells and trinkets.
(16) There is one thing alone that will cause your death: Nether Vapor. This debuff stacks up to 9 times, with each stack removing 10% of your health, so by the end of a long fight you are down 90% of your health and a few of his spells can seemingly 1 shot you. THIS IS WHY YOU HAVE SAVED YOUR CD'S. Whatever you gots to remove his MC, use it now. If you see that your Nether Vapor stacks are up around 5, use your bubble or whatever you got to erase it, because you are racing the stacks. It seems that you only get "1 shotted" (it's really about 4 attacks in less than a second) once you get to the full 9 stacks, so pump up that dps and geterdone.
I do this every week. It's a yawner of a fight using this strat, although perhaps harder for those who are pet-dependent.

Wondering if Kael is glitched.....I got through the first 3 bosses easily, started the Kael fight and took a few tries to learn how to space out the adds. But my problems start during the Kale phase itself.....he spawns 2 or 3 phoenixes, I kill them and the eggs, then he simply despawns and the whole fight resets. I'm holding him in the little room just outside his chamber, right past the purplish gate that is up during the fight. This happened four times in a row tonight. Anyone else having this issue, or any thoughts on this in general?

I'm just compiling facts that are included in the rest of the posts, but I spent lots of time reading all of them before I soloed the instance, and I would have appreciated this information in one place.
ilvl 500 spriest (my first time was at 480, but it should be possible in MV LFR gear).
Clearing in this order:
- Al'ar (this is very simple for ranged DPS):
He spawns adds, and there is a knock-back after they are dead, but this is a trivial fight at lvl 90, and you shouldn't ever have to move from the lower center portion of the room.
- Solarian
Kill all adds, then burn boss. Levitate is helpful here at lower DPS averages.
- Kael'thas and Council
Kill council one at a time, kill the weapons that spawn, then EQUIP THE STAFF
瓦解法杖
, drag the staff (and therefore the ability) to a bar, and use the ability immediately (immunity to stun, silence and disorient). This ability makes the rest of the fight trivial, both the resurrected council and Kael'thas himself. Don't use shadowfiend or mindbender on Kael'thas (you won't need to, and there's a mechanic that has been mentioned, but I haven't experienced, where he MCs a non-tank i.e. YOU).
If you want to re-equip your normal weapons for faster trash clear between Kael'thas and Void Reaver's, just don't forget to re-equip the staff prior to engaging Void Reaver.
- Void Reaver
Keep the staff equipped and its ability active, and this fight is trivial.
Enjoy your hunt for Ashes!

The eye is completely soloable by disc priest. Ilvl 467. And it is pretty faceroll now.
Al'ar- just burn. Nothing special here
High Astromancer Solarian - nothing special here either. Clear room and spam mindbender, penance, holy fire, smite. Clean adds, repeat
Void Reaver - hardest fight in raid.. for casters. Burst him and then start running in circles, when your silence momentarily drops cast in this priority - Mindbender, penance, pain, holy shock (instant). If you are low on health use penance as first priority for some atonement healing. Mindbender continues doing damage while you are silence and so does pain, penance just has more priority because of atonement and because all 3 ticks hit for a lot more than pain. Keep Pain suppression and Desperate prayer on CC if you hit enrage timer. This fight was a pain and I went about 20 seconds into his enrage which is surprisingly survivable for an extended period of time. so... All you basically need to do is damage through the silence window, he does a knock forward and you might try to spam Shield with "body and soul" talent to get far enough ahead of him to avoid the blast radius of his silence. If you do (not very often) you can refresh your dots, renew yourself or get off some damage. DONT count on being able to outrun his silence. the debuff will go down every now and then for you to get off some damage, make EVERY second count.
Kael'thas Sunstrider- Faceroll as of 5.2. Attack his adds as the activate, they should be dead before the next one comes up. When the weapons show up just burn them down. Grab staff, equip and click. I didnt even really pay attention in the next phase for who I took down first. I dont think it even really matters at this point. When the boss activates just spam your offensive spells and mindbender. when you go floating, use that as an opportunity to either regain mana but just doing nothing or icing adds. Wash rinse and repeat. SOOOOOOO much easier than before.

As of 5.3.0 this raid became more popular with the addition of three pets, making all four bosses very much desirable. More A'dal shoutouts in Shattrath!

The description at the top says "Accept the three quests Khadgar gives you," however they are obtained from A'dal, right behind Khadgar.

Finally worked. Item Level 511 Affliction Warlock.
I used TheZoog's method to pull and dispatch Thaladred, Sanguinar, Capernion and Telonicus. I tried this method earlier this year and kept failing with the bird and the egg. I just couldn't burn through them fast enough.
I pulled Thaladred to the doorway at the short corridor between the bridge and Kael'thas' chamber as soon as Thaladred dropped I ran into the corridor. Kael'thas met me at the gated doorway. When he would use the attack that erupts the ground in flames I ran back out of the corridor and continued keeping dots up and switched between Drain Life and Malefic Grasp. Didn't bother with, Haunt, Drain Sole, Soulburn/Soul Swap method. I burned through the bird and the egg pretty quickly. Kael'thas ran off, got mad in the corner or whatever and came back and threw me into the ceiling. All attacks continued to work through the ceiling bashing. Kept the dots up, Drain Life (When needed) and Malefic Grasp.

For anyone interested, from completing this raid solo (while missing about 8 mobs in total), I received the following summation:
242 gold, 75 silver and 86 copper
47
灵纹布
Not the most drop saturated instance to run, but this particular raid has the added bonus of possible pet drops, some pretty cool transmogrification sets, and of course, the coveted
奥的灰烬
. You won't make very much gold here, but a fun raid nonetheless, especially since it only takes about 10-15 minutes (maybe longer if your gear is not very good/you're unfamiliar with the fights). Speaking of the fights, they are pretty brutal until you know what to do, if you've never been here before I would not be surprised if you died to 2 of the bosses at least once. I do very highly recommend this instance though, as it is very fun :)

Today i soloed Kael Thas on my ilevel 520 demonology warlock (as i do every week) but i wasn't able to pull the advisors out of the boss room anymore. As soon as Kael Thas started babbling, the doors closed. Just a head's up to anyone below ilevel 500, since i wasn't able to solo them inside the room before that.

As of recently, they now made the doors close almost immediately when the encounter starts, forcing players to kill the advisors all in the one room.
Fortunately, for Hunters, as well as other classes that can have pets, it is still possible to get outside of the room and spread the advisors as done prior to the fix. All you need to do is use move pet and make your pet go to the stairs right in front of Kael. Your pet will start the encounter, and with disengage or other speed increasing abilities (I used nitro boosts, not sure if it is necessary) you will have enough time to get out of the room before the doors close. Run down the hallway to make your pet return to you.
Happy hunting!

It's soloable. I'm a level 90 ret paladin with 509 gear used my own weapon. I make sure I kill off Grand Astromancer Capernian first, use execution sentence, and guardian of ancient kings, keep slamming with judgement between being feared. When my health gets low I use laying of hands and then continue with everyone else, then use divine shield, heal, finish fight.(##RESPBREAK##)16##DELIM##asakawa##DELIM##

Soloed as a iLevel 514 SP.
1. Kill entourage.
2. Kill weapons.
3. Equip staff.
3.1 USE staff.
4. Kill entourage. Again. I picked them off in this order. In the middle of the room.
4.1 Wicked witch
Capernian
first.
4.2 Then Mr Darkess,
Thaladred
.
4.3 Oh my Lord
Sanguine
.
4.4 And finally Mr Tinkertoy
Telonicus
.
5. I hit
Lord Sunstrider
with everything I got. No buffs, wrong staff.
Only tactics used was to equip and USE the staff. I failed miserably the first time around.
Abolsutely no positioning except standing right in front of the Lord because I will not enter a room and hug a wall, not for Kael'thas, not for anyone.
I only moved to fetch the staff.
When I finally got to have a go at
Kael'thas
I forgot to equip my more powerful staff. Worked out OK anyway.
I burned him down except for the part where I was not allowed when he pulled his floating in mid-air stunt.
Of course he died.

With WoD revamping BC, does anyone know if this raid will still be available and if Ashes of Al'ar will continue to be available? After 2.5 years of weekly runs on multiple toons, I think I'll die if don't get it before it's unavailable:( I'd appreciate it if anyone has read or heard anything could link the info here for me. TY, in advance.

I will add my experience to help those like me killing time until 6.0, who are going quest/achievement hunting but otherwise unfamiliar, with this place.
As a 553 hunter I had zero problems with any bosses or trash in here. I specifically avoided reading strats because I wanted to see what I could figure out on my own. I did this raid maybe twice back in late BC or early Wrath, but had completely forgotten it.
Again this is for hunters (or maybe other pet classes in general), so your mileage may vary.
A'lar
was simply a tank and spank, the only issue I had was I didnt realize he dies and comes back, so after the first time killing him and no body/loot I thought he glitched. Otherwise, pet aggro, and burn. He did fly to the opposite side of the balcony than I was on when I pulled him though, so you may want to tag him in the back of the room (by the exits leading to the rest of the raid.
Void Reaver
was equally trivial. However, even though my pet had aggro and he was facing away from me, the boss did repeatedly cast a 6 second silence (either on me or on the area where I was standing - so not sure if you can move to avoid it). This didn't affect my huntering but other ranged casters beware.
For
Solarian
, I thought I'd skip the trash that spread allll around the outer area of the room. When I pulled the boss, they of course all aggroed me. At some point during the 30+ mob fracas on the boss, I was mind controlled, I think twice. As I had tagged the boss first, and kept my pet on him, he eventually went down, and the mind control wore off long enough for me to get a couple multi-shots in to thin the herd. Once that happened, it was just clean up. Be sure to clear trash first, and if you don't have a pet, make sure to have an MC immunity/trinket.
Kael
was less trouble than Solarian for me.
P1 - I killed the advisers individually, but did move them slightly off the platform first (I was standing at max range). Each went down in a couple of hits.
P 2 - The weapons activated and I simply I AoE'd them down. I did not pick one up to use.
P 3 - The advisers all rezzed at the same time, and I was incapacitated once and knocked back twice before I could wrangle them down. I was never in danger of dying, it was just annoying. Again, pets work wonderfully to go after stuff if you are otherwise CC'd.
P 4 - Kael engaged me personally, and I popped all my trinkets and CD's and bursted him down. He got to 1hp, didn't die, walked back to the electrified purple cell area, flew up in the air, eventually came back down, and one autoshot killed him and I was able to loot. No trouble, but on reading the comments now I think that would only be the case if you are able to kill him before he goes back to the cells.
With WoD on the horizon most of the previous strats comments for duo-ing and soloing will likely be moot shortly. Going back to the Eye should be no trouble for any class by level 100, and is easily soloable by hunters (and likely any other pet class) right now (at least at ~ 550 ilvl). .
I hope this helped someone. Good luck on Ashes and the pets everyone.

Tried a new strategy today with my hunter that made the fight go a little faster, and it worked pretty well. I did my usual thing where I put my pet near the platform, and had it on passive. Then I stood in the back of the room, as far from the platform as possible and let Thaladred and Sanguinar walk toward me and get almost to me before killing them, then quickly ran forward and had my pet attack Capernian before she got too far from the platform, then killed Telonicus right where he originally stands. After the weapons phase, I placed my pet right next to Capernians body and then stood in the area behind the platform, on Telonicus' side. As soon as he rezzed the advisers, I immediately killed Telonicus, and had my pet attack Capernian, then easily killed the other two, then the prince. This method isn't really necessary, I just always find phase three a little long and annoying if I get hit by Capernian's disorient, which can lead to a lot of chain cc from the other advisers, and this method puts me out of Capernian's line of sight at the beginning of the phase, and gets her to attack my pet instead of me, so I avoid the disorient altogether. Just thought I'd share my method in case anyone else needed it. Haven't tried this with any other classes, but there may be a few this works with, or some deviation of it.

When doing the instances in Tempest Keep, I suggest you do them in the following order:
After weekly reset: Mechanar, The Eye, Botanica, then Arcatraz
After daily reset: Mechanar, Botanica, Arcatraz
Reason being, both Mechanar and Botanica have exits, while The Eye and Arcatraz do not. But since The Eye is more linear and easier to run back through to exit, I suggest doing it before Arcatraz, then hearthing from Arcatraz.
To recap:
Mechanar (70.53, 69.62): Exit
The Eye (73.42, 63,71): no Exit
Botanica (71.63, 55.19): Exit
Arcatraz (74.32, 57.79): No Exit
Also, the Mechanar, The Eye, and the Botanica are all more or less on the same level, while Arcatraz is high above them all nestled between The Eye and Botanica.
Strategically planning ahead will save you time by using the exits in two to gain faster access to the others or to stay in Netherstorm.
Cheers!

After the shadowlands 9.0.1 pre-patch and level squish, the item level drop here is 32-35.
Aka the answer to your question is that you probably want to be level 40 or above to do this raid! (and don't forget the kael'thas advisor's stun mechanics if you are soloing)
