Looks like a paladin
Very glad to hear about all the changes. I just started gearing my paladin because the ret rework looks fun and prot is looking better also.
Yea.. because Prot pally needed even more buffs.... lmao.
" Paladins are strong but again Warrior and Death Knight tanks have higher representation in higher keys. "I mean if you look at top 20 IO tanks right now there is only one DK with Multiple paladins. The number one rank is a Prot paladin.
I am a bit surprised that the addition of Sanctified Plates is barely mentioned despite it being the single most impactful passive point of pretty much any class tree. I mean just look at it, it's quite frankly ridiculously strong for a single point. No other class has anything even close to it. Most other classes take two skillpoints to get half the value, most likely even less value than that single point.I mean, I am not against adding it, don't get me wrong. But it feels so weird when other classes have things like "+3% avoidance" or "+10% Stamina" as one point nodes. And this one is even just in the middle directly after a must-have talent.
I guess this will be the new broken meta tank. It's already basically on par with prot warrior when it comes to high key pushing."Cooldown reduction galore: You can get sub two-minute cooldown on Blessing of Spellwarding and Divine Shield, sub one minute cooldown Eye of Tyr and Ardent Defender, and even sub three-minute cooldown on Lay on Hands! This is on top of retaining access to sub two-minute Guardian of Ancient Kings and one minute Sentinel/ Avenging Wrath."What the hell is even that, lol. Not to forget Sanctified Plates which is probably the single most broken 1 point talent in the game, 20% armor, 10% stamina and basically 10% avoidance for a single point in the class tree. Also quite funny how the writer tries to downplay the current strength of prot paladin in m+.
The previous large bonus to playing Protection Paladin in SL was strong AOE, very strong AOE burst, and quite competitive single target damage with the benefit of still having lots of Holy power to pass out WoGs to teammates as needed. Without large incoming holy power to spend and feeling more slow and more fragile than other tanking options, many players dropped the spec in Dragonflight. Great players will opt to move onto a spec that doesn't feel like it's design is fighting against the player. Protection Paladin isn't terrible now, it was just far better before DF released.
Still really wanting the heroic leap for pally
Af first read I was curious if Crusader’s Reprieve would trigger off Blessed Hammer/Hammer of the Righteous as those replace Crusader Strike.Has anybody tested this in the PTR yet? I feel it would help the talent be a viable choice if that was the case and it would save Blizzard the time of reworking the talent. However, Lightforged is just useless as Holy and Prot, it should just be moved to the Ret tree or fully reworked to trigger off abilities the 3 specs share.
Basing tuning on the too percentile of a control group is fantastically stupid. Especially in this case
Hoping Guardian gets this kind of treatment before 11.0...
The changes being implemented to Dusk and Dawn are really horrible and are built upon a poor mental model of protection tanking. In the current Dusk and Dawn model you have the option of boosting all your abilities damage output and a universal DR instead of being obsessed with the physical that is covered by armor. Shield of Righteous has always supposed to be a targeted DR against incoming abilities not a 100% uptime armor resistance. The suggestions that are made in this post are really narrow minded and aren't considering the other abilities in the Paladin's toolkit. The main problem Paladin's have currently is in the area of mobility against forced movement effects. Blessing of Freedom has no effect in the PvE environment and is unusable against mechanics that abilities like DK's Death Advance, Lichborne, and warrior abilities like Charge, and Heroic Leap to name a few. Fixing the issue around mobility would put Paladins in a much better place.
"Faith's Armor should be switched to trigger on Word of Glory for Protection"this is just a bad suggestion, im not a fan of WoG giving buffs. it makes the gameplay strange. normally you would save your WoG till your low but these buffs just make it counter intuitive. now you want to use your WoG before big damage rather than after to heal yourself.Sotr currently feels so weak when you dont have any additional defensives up and this talent makes sotr much more reliable.
Good to see some of these Class/Spec "Feedback and Wishlist" articles have started popping up in the hopes to get at least some bad stuff fixed.Just wondering if BM Hunters author have already lost all the hope, just like many players, since most of the "feedback" was deliberately ignored throughout the beta to begin with! Not sure if Blizz have any interest in reworking that spec and specially the defensives and AoE of Hunter Class in general since all three specs are crap on those two.I've been quiet enjoying my Prot Pally, not doing any high keys yet but still fun to play! Of Dusk and Dawn's idea of being risk vs reward may have sounded nice on paper but in functionality when it comes to practical use in M+ runs, it's not easy to maintain both buffs. Good to see it's getting slightly reworked too.
Still want Holy power back to Avenger shield even at the cost of 1 charge of either Judgment or Blessed Hammer. Else it feels like the playstyle of Dawn and Dusk is going to be a bit more oppressive when it comes to what buttons you can press to generate them now that it isn't a maintenance buff.
