Mechagon Workshop is back again in Season 4 of Shadowlands and with it, the
Controle Mental
technology that can lead to massive damage from your Priest. The
Engenhoqueira de Gnomecan
is an enemy found throughout the instance after you enter the Mechagon Metropolis proper. This enemy casts two abilities, an interruptible
Gigapancada
and
Ativar Esquilo Antipessoal
which has a 12 second cooldown and can not be kicked.
When under the effects of
Controle Mental
, the
Engenhoqueira de Gnomecan
can cast
Ativar Esquilo Antipessoal
which will travel to a
nearby
enemy and do a short cast. It will then explode, dealing massive damage to all enemies. Even if you are a Shadow Priest, you will still want to take advantage of these squirrels to maximize your dps. In this guide, we will break down the various trash pulls where these
Engenhoqueira de Gnomecan
are present, how your group can assist you, how to maximize your damage and what dangers using this tech can present to you and your team. I also included a video here which summarizes and provides additional visuals for how to pull off this tech but this article does explain everything on its own.
Entering Mechagon City: Two
Engenhoqueira de Gnomecan
Upon entering Mechagon City, an alarm goes off summoning 3 waves of guards and bots to repel your party.
The first wave features two
Engenhoqueira de Gnomecan
along with some Dog-Bots. If you would like to maximize your impact in the dungeon you'll want to make sure both enemies'
Ativar Esquilo Antipessoal
s are being used for your team, this will also allow your melee in the party to not have to dodge the explosions.
Ideally you should ask a member of your group with a lengthy single-target stun to stop one of the
Engenhoqueira de Gnomecan
's immediately on pull, this will allow you to
Controle Mental
the other one and instantly cast a Squirrel. When taking control of the
Engenhoqueira de Gnomecan
you are presented with three spell attacks by default on 1,2,3:
Auto-Attack
Ativar Esquilo Antipessoal
Gigapancada
Gigapancada
does very little damage so you should never worry about casting this.
Ativar Esquilo Antipessoal
has a 12 second cooldown
, whether you cast it or the enemy casts it on its own. With this in mind, having another player in your group stun one
Engenhoqueira de Gnomecan
allows you to desync the respective cooldowns of the Two Tinker's
Ativar Esquilo Antipessoal
casts.
When they are not synced you can then bounce back and forth between
Controle Mental
ling each enemy, casting the
Ativar Esquilo Antipessoal
, cancelling the
Controle Mental
with the ESC key and then
Controle Mental
ing the next
Engenhoqueira de Gnomecan
ideally after the first Squirrel detonates but sometimes that is not always possible so focus on maximizing your squirrel casts.
Finally for this pack, you will have one
Infiltrador Nathrezim
off to the side that should be pulled in with this first wave of enemies to also take damage from the squirrel. That being said, you also have to be concerned about the Infiltrator's
Enxame Carniceiro
and
Nuvem de Pesadelo
. Make sure you're using
Controle Mental
well away from other players to reduce the chance of a
Nuvem de Pesadelo
being cast on you and make sure to stand far enough out at range to completely avoid any
Enxame Carniceiro
cast.
Errant Squirrels - Fixing "Mistargeting" before Machinist's Garden
Before the 3rd boss you will have another
Engenhoqueira de Gnomecan
that you can
Controle Mental
for big damage. Thankfully there is only one you have to deal with, but there are some challenges here because of how the Squirrels can target enemies. Sometimes Squirrels will either go backwards into the maze or target the boss with their detonation,
completely wasting
the potential damage on the trash mobs.
To fix this you need to adjust where you position the
Engenhoqueira de Gnomecan
and with it, the entire trash pack so that the
Engenhoqueira de Gnomecan
can get the cast off and be struck by it and so that the Squirrel will not hit a wasted target. The markers below are an approximate field where you will want to
position your
Engenhoqueira de Gnomecan
to guarantee that it will not send the squirrel into the maze or boss fight.
Dealing with Inspiring
In the prior trash pulls, the
Inspiradora
affix is not a problem at all, but there is one pull in the instance where it can be problematic and that is leading up to the final boss.

In this pull, the
Engenhoqueira de Gnomecan
is NOT
Inspiradora
so you will need to do two things. 1st, have your tank pull up towards the Defense Bots and 2nd use
Força Rutilante
to push the
Inspiradora
mob up to them, leaving the
Engenhoqueira de Gnomecan
casting where it spawns. From there, you can freely cast Squirrels that will always travel into the
Inspiradora
/defense bot pile and when you release the
Engenhoqueira de Gnomecan
it will just cast some
Gigapancada
onto the party that can be mitigated using the nearby defense fields that are dropped. Just make sure your team does NOT kick the
Engenhoqueira de Gnomecan
until the
Inspiradora
mob is dead or else you will not be able to
Controle Mental
the mob.
Lastly, it is important to remind your team that you will be unable to heal them while using
Controle Mental
so it is imperative that they are using defensives on these latter pulls especially.

is great for clearing multiple debuffs from the defensive bots and weaving in
Apoteose
to reset Holy Words to heal rapidly or using

to refresh your allies defensives can make your team much less stressed while you are adding extra damage. That said, the best way to safely use this technique is to practice and minimize your time spent spawning squirrels so that you can get back to healing your teammates as needed.
