Seems like noxxic 2.0. A bunch of misinformation spread by people who are not playing the game.
Sorry, but tank and healer parse numbers are the most useless thing ever created. Whoever thought this was a good metric to value players, has little to no understanding of the game.Healing is zero sum, it is adversarial, meaning once a lost health point has been restored, it cannot be restored a second time. Any additional cast beyond the first goes to overhealing, which a raid aims to minimise.Tanking is about not dying to an encounter. When you value the damage done of a tank (outside of the currently deployed Death Strike from Mists of Pandaria) more than their capability of surviving an encounter, by easing damage spikes utilising their personal and external defense cooldowns, you are, again, going against the goal of a raid. Now, how do you parse as a healer? You spam your most HPS spell until you run out of mana, which could happen at any boss health percentage, be it 10 or 60. Does this make any sense to you?
Healers with top logs are usually with groups that take too much dmg or on purpose taking dmg to log 99s. Bingo.I got my raids holydin some really nice parses in wrath. Chunky bear stands in everything.
I don't think they will ever revise how they measure logs, but Tanks and Healers should be changed.Maybe there could be a total dmg taken, measured then by how much they healed of it & how well they performed? Uptime on shields as disc? idk.Usage of resto shams spirit link totem. Things like that would prob prove if a healer is better, rather than on just total healing done. Tanks is even more useless, as whoever got vengeance most often & first, is gonna be the big dmg dealer. Even here, you could intentionally take more damage for a higher vengeance. Or let 1 or the other MT for his logs. Question here aswell, Guardian druid, are they separated from feral? Or is it just based on the form you used ?In MoP for example where vengeance goes even harder out of hand, in HoF 4th boss the Wind dude with all the adds. If you manage to solo Tank it, your dps will be in the million. Might be balanced with latest patch there. Idea for Tanks logs could be basing on damage taken from certain mechanics, how well you avoided unnecessary damage, used your cd to reduce most damage. Like if you use a defensive to cover damage from a big hit vs using it whenever incorrectly just covering smaller hits, could be a measurement. Probably a nightmare to actually get it to work, which is why I don't think we'll ever see a change. But the current logs, only Dps ones matter.
